ABOUT US….

I do this for Rudy. 1995 – 2005
No dog should ever have to live half of his life being tortured daily in a Research Lab.
This cute cowboy hat hides the scars from a “Brain Cap”, a monstrous piece of machinery surgically drilled through his skull and into his brain.
Rudy’s scars of terror went far beyond being seen on the outside…..
I was the fortunate one to find him….and then we began the journey of teaching and healing each other together….for as long as it was meant to be…..
I will never forget beautiful, gentle Rudy, who came so far and learned how to walk up and down a flight of stairs, ride in a car without the fear of being taken to a mine field, walk on a leash, play with other dogs, learn to bark, fall asleep in a daffodil garden…..but especially to learn to trust people again.
I speak for those who have no voice. I act for those who have no choice…..Laurie
WHO WE ARE:
We rescue the abused, abandoned, forgotten, neglected, unwanted and injured dogs dumped in the desert, the mountains or living in “kill shelters” and deemed “unadoptable” because they are considered to have “special needs” with medical or emotional challenges and expenses. We then commit ourselves to loving them, rehabilitating them, socializing them, giving them proper medical care and nutrition and finding each of them their own safe “furever” home. For the lucky other 14 ’special needs’ dogs? They live here with us, surrounded by love on our humble 7 acre sanctuary and home! They may not be perfect, but they’re perfect to us. There is no perfect family, just as there is no perfect dog. Besides, perfect is boring.
We are the ONLY “NO KILL” Dog Rescue in Grant County and we serve all of the communities within a 100 mile radius. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity and a recognizedUnited Way charity.
Your donations to Puppy Dog Ranch are 100% tax deductible! We are funded solely by your donations, money handed to us from strangers on the street and the nickels and dimes we find in our dusty pockets at the end of each long, fur-filled day. We are run by a very small ‘pack’ of die-hard, strong-hearted, dedicated unpaid volunteers and one head-strong, pissed off, crazy, outspoken East Coast Italian woman.
